ASJF supports verified members with professional guidance on press accreditation and international sports-media credentials. Accreditation is a professional access mechanism; it does not guarantee entry to any event and remains subject to the rules and approval of the relevant organizer or credentialing body.
National and event accreditation
For competitions, conferences and other sporting events, journalists should apply through the organizer’s official accreditation process and within the announced deadline. Requirements may include proof of professional activity, assignment details, identification, recent published work and a valid ASJF membership record.
ASJF verification
Where appropriate, ASJF may confirm a member’s current membership status or professional affiliation. Such confirmation does not replace the organizer’s own eligibility assessment and does not create an automatic right of admission.
AIPS Card guidance
The AIPS Card is administered under the rules and procedures of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). Eligibility, documentation, fees, validity and final approval are determined through the applicable AIPS process. ASJF can guide eligible members through the national verification stage but cannot guarantee issuance of an AIPS Card.
Information members should prepare
- Valid identification and current contact details.
- Current ASJF membership information.
- Evidence of active professional sports-journalism work.
- Media organization or freelance assignment information where required.
- Recent work samples or publication links when requested.
- Any photographs or documents required by the relevant accreditation system.
Professional use of credentials
Accreditation and press cards must be used only by the person to whom they are issued and in accordance with venue, organizer and credentialing rules. They must not be transferred, altered, sold or used to obtain access for another person.
